Moving to the Netherlands can be an exciting adventure for a family, but for a child, starting life in a new country can also mean navigating a completely new language, school, and social environment.

Dutch lessons with an international perspective

Juf Julia provides online Dutch lessons specifically for international, expat, and newcomer children aged 5–12.

As a primary school teacher with an international background, Julia understands the challenges of learning a new language from personal experience. She has lived abroad, learned languages herself, and is the mother of multilingual children. She has also worked in Dutch primary schools and understands the expectations and language demands children encounter in the Dutch education system.

This combination gives her a unique perspective: she understands both the child who is learning Dutch and the Dutch school environment in which that child needs to use it.

More than just vocabulary

A child may understand quite a lot of Dutch but still hesitate to speak. Another child may speak confidently but struggle with reading, spelling, or grammar. Some children need to build their vocabulary, while others need more confidence to use the Dutch they already know.

Online Dutch lessons for international families

All lessons take place online via Zoom, making them accessible to families wherever they are based in the Netherlands — and particularly convenient for busy international families.

Juf Julia currently offers weekly online group lessons for children aged 5–12, as well as additional online workshops for enrolled students.
